Youth Holiday Financial Support

Please read the following guidelines before completing the funding application form and also ensure you have had a conversation with our Youth Minister.

Please be aware that the bursary will not be applied until the Young Person has been booked onto the holiday and their deposit payment has been paid.

Criteria for applying for Youth Holiday Financial Support

STwSS Youth Holiday Financial Support exists to ensure that no young person is prevented from going on a youth holiday with us because they cannot afford the full fees. However, the fund is limited, and we therefore set certain criteria in order to ensure that we are awarding bursaries to those who are most in need:

1.    In applying for financial support, you are confirming that the award of that bursary will enable a young person to go on a Youth Holiday who would otherwise be unable to go.

2.   The funding exists to support households where income is particularly low; usually this will mean that parents/carers will be receiving welfare benefits such as income support, or they are a lone parent, or struggling due to cost of living and able to provide a rationale for the application.

3.   We will also support families where two or more siblings are going on one of our Youth Holidays in the same year and where the family’s finances cannot afford the fees for all of them.

4.   Only one bursary per year can be awarded for each young person, except in exceptional circumstances agreed to by St Thomas with St Stephen.

5.    The young person receiving financial support to attend the Youth Holiday will need to have been regularly attending our Youth programme (e.g. midweek, or on Sunday).
