Meet Hannah

Hi, my name is Hannah Phillips and I am the Children’s and Youth worker for St Thomas with St Stephen. My job is to co-ordinate all the activities that relate to children and young people.

I come from Bournemouth and graduated from Moorlands College with a degree in Applied Theology in Youth and Community. I have gained experience working for Bournemouth Youth Service and Dorset Youth Service as a centre-based youth worker, mainly involved with working on projects like the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme and Prince's Trust. I also worked for a Christian charity called Impact, coming alongside young people on the streets and beach, making sure they were safe and hadn't consumed too much alcohol.

When I have the time, I am a keen dancer, studying commercial jazz, as well as enjoying chocolate and all things pink!

The current projects we offer are (the soon to be newly-named) Sunday School at the 11.00am service for ages 0–16 and, on Thursdays, a youth group from 6.30–8.00pm for ages 11–18.  In this group we discuss informally what the Bible has to say about matters relating to us, and everyday life.  Both these groups meet at the St Stephen's Church building in Weir Road.

Keep an eye out for events coming up – soon we have a street dance workshop, taught by professionals. We are also planning to start an open youth club on Mondays, with pool, table tennis and more.
