Redevelopment at St Stephen’s

Redevelopment at St Stephen’s

20 June 2010—First St Thomas’, now St Stephen’s! St Stephen’s Church will be closed from 24th July for six weeks to undergo refurbishment of its community rooms.

After a long period of oscillating between “yes, it’s on” and “no, it’s off”, we are delighted that the Weir Link has received a grant of about £280,000, most of which is to be spent on the refurbishment of St Stephen’s community rooms, ie, most of the church building apart from the main worship area. The Weir Link has been so successful that it needs extra space and we are making available our space during the week to enable them to run a range of health-enhancing programmes.

As a result of the refurbishment we need to close the building over the summer. From 25th July the 11am and evening services will be at St Thomas’ Church, returning to St Stephen’s on 12th September.
