12 April 2009—We continue the story of the great generosity of our church with our Lent appeal.

We asked people not to give any more than they are already doing, but simply to give up something for Lent. Then to give the money saved to the church, so that as we are building up St Thomas’, we can also contribute to building up the church in Peru. Our Step Team visited last year and started building a dining room to feed the children of the village, some of whom don’t get a proper meal each day. A new team will visit this summer to continue the work.

We gave up (with Gift Aid added) just over £1,000. That’s well over 3,300 bricks—well done everyone! We can’t wait to see the pictures of the team building with them.
