Community Partners
We see our mission as a church to help regenerate our community. Many of our members are involved in community activities and in particular we support:
The Weir Link
The Weir Link is a joint project between STwSS and the Weir Estate Tenants’ & Residents’ Association to set up a thriving community project. The initial funding has come through and the first stage of the dream has been fulfilled. The eyesore that was the Weir Hall has been demolished and a new single-storey multi-purpose building has been put in its place. Watch the video...
Cavendish Road Police Sector Working Party
Our parish covers the two wards of Thornton and Clapham Park and we work with the local police on local issues and crime reduction. There is a Community Advice Flat in Clapham Park West that is a partnership between the police, local residents and the Council and is supported by lawyers in our congregation who give advice.
Friends of Agnes Riley Gardens
The Friends of Agnes Riley Gardens seek to look after our local park, putting in new play equipment, fighting graffiti, and improving the whole environment. They hold an annual Funday, which STwSS supports strongly.
Clapham Park Partners in Action
Clapham Park Partners in Action is an umbrella body uniting the many voluntary groups in Clapham Park. Working with the Council and Clapham & Stockwell Town Centre Board, we seek to make real changes in the area. We hold public meetings every three months covering topics such as crime, environment, education, and traffic - anything that is a hot potato and needs answers from the local council.
